Dearest all donors and friends,
I believe that some of you received an email from someone who hi-jacked my email account and sent out email to ask you to send the money on the 24th January 2012. Please DO NOT send anything to this person! I am safely in Cambodia! Much more than worst, he/she deleted all emails in 2009/2010/2011/2012 and all my contacts emails addresses in the lists already!
To receive news from HVTO and me in the future, please write to me first at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it so that I can have your address and write you back and please don’t mind me that I did not send you any emails from Tuesday 24th January 2012 on wards because I don’t have your contacts.
I am sorry for this inconvenience! And thank you very much for your understanding!
Best Regards
Sim Piseth

Sour Sdey! Hello visitors! Homestay Volunteer Teachers Organization or HVTO, is a registered non-profit non-governmental organization (NGO) situated in the rural Cambodian countryside. HVTO develops and manages several different projects to help the poorest Cambodian communities to improve their quality of life and to enable them to sustain themselves independently. Reducing poverty and increasing knowledge is the aim. Education is the answer. HVTO’s development projects simultaneously create jobs opportunities for local people.
Our work is based on the following four main projects:
HVTO strives to see that every Cambodian child has the right and access to free education. We believe that children should learn English and computer skills, as we believe that these are key tools for better job prospects for themselves and in turn for the development of Cambodia. Education is the tool which will empower people and create conditions for sustainable development. Since 2008, HVTO has provided free education to over 500 children.
Their parents generally want them to go to school, but unfortunately they can not afford the money for transport, school materials and private tuition and etc. These children do not have the opportunity to finish high school, although graduation from high school provides an important qualification which is necessary for good careers in Cambodia. Some children in Sophy and Sreth villages are in great need of life-changing, that is why HVTO has created Child Sponsorship with belief that we can bring HOPE and CHANGE to their families and our community.
4- Clean Water Project HVTO is appealing to all charitable people who can help to provide clean water pumps to our Cambodian communities. Thanks to TomandoConciencia to fund 20 water pumps. Please see the video report.
HVTO can co-ordinate this and make sure the water pumps are delivered to the neediest families in the rural areas.
Thanks to a donation from Goldman Sachs, we could build 107 water pumps for our community in 2010. Up to August 2011, HVTO have installed/supplied 183 water pumps to needy Cambodian Families in Kontrung commune, Brasat Bakong district, Siem Reap Province, Angkor - Cambodia.
Thank you very much for your interest in our project! Feel free to visit the different pages and find out more about HVTO and its work. As so far our project still runs on a very small budget that relies on donations and we do not have any constant financial sponsors, we are always very happy about every person that get's involved with us - be it a financial donation, organizing a fundraising-event or contributing some time and volunteering as a teacher yourself in Cambodia. We will be very glad to welcome you to get involved with us doing and helping with these projects together. Please do not hesitate to email us if you might need more information about HVTO or have any further questions.
Or our photos albums can tell you more about our activities
With warmest regards Sim Piseth
